Growing & Observing

At Midwest Wagyu Beef, we are committed to producing the highest quality beef possible. One of the key aspects of our process is the care and attention we give our cattle during the final months of our process. Here's a closer look at how our open-air facility plays a vital role in ensuring the premium quality of our beef.

The Journey of Our Cattle

Our beef cattle undergo a carefully managed process from birth to harvest. For the first 12 to 18 months, they are raised in a nurturing environment, allowing them to grow and develop healthily. During this period, they are fed a well-balanced diet that supports their growth and prepares them for the next stage of their journey.

Transition to the Open-Air Facility

After this initial phase, our cattle are brought into our open-air facility. This transition marks a critical phase in their development, where they spend the remainder of their time before harvest. The open-air facility is designed to provide an optimal environment for our cattle, ensuring their comfort and well-being.

Why Open-Air Matters

Our open-air facility offers several advantages:

1. Enhanced Comfort: The open-air setting allows our cattle to enjoy fresh air and natural light, which contributes to their overall comfort. This environment reduces stress and promotes a sense of well-being, which is crucial for maintaining high-quality beef.

2. Improved Feeding: In the open-air facility, our cattle have access to a carefully managed feed regimen. This diet is specifically formulated to enhance the marbling and flavor of the beef. The cattle feed well in this environment, which translates into superior meat quality.

3. Health and Hygiene: The open-air facility is designed with the health and hygiene of our cattle in mind. Adequate ventilation and space help prevent the buildup of contaminants, reducing the risk of illness and ensuring that our cattle remain healthy.

4. Stress Reduction: Stress can negatively impact the quality of beef. By providing a comfortable and natural environment, we minimize stress for our cattle, resulting in tender and flavorful meat.

Ensuring the Highest Quality Beef

The combination of a carefully managed diet and an stress-free, open-air environment contributes to the exceptional quality of our beef. At Midwest Wagyu Beef, we take pride in our commitment to excellence, and our open-air facility is a testament to that commitment. Our open-air facility is more than just a place where cattle are fed—it is an integral part of our process that enhances the quality of the beef we produce. By focusing on the well-being of our cattle, we ensure that every cut of beef meets the highest standards of quality and flavor.
